Training

"Like people, different dogs learn differently & at their own pace"

Our training program is designed to bring out the best in each retriever, progressing at a pace that matches the dog's individual learning style. Every dog moves through the program based on its development and the owner’s goals—whether for hunting, competition, or both. We focus on building confident, skilled retrievers that excel in the field and beyond.

Our Training Program

Our program is designed to develop skilled, confident retrievers that excel in hunting, competition, or both. Each dog progresses at its own pace, ensuring a strong foundation and steady improvement.

  • Tailored Training: From young puppies to finished retrievers and field trial competitors, we customize training based on each dog's abilities and the owner's goals.

  • Proven Bloodlines: We only work with retrievers from health-tested, competitive lineage and do not accept dogs from dilute backgrounds.

  • Hands-On Approach: With a limited number of dogs in our program, Scott personally trains each one, providing individualized attention and expert guidance.

  • Obedience First: No matter the level, every dog begins with obedience training or a refresher before advancing to more specialized work.

  • Advanced Training: For owners interested in field trials or hunt tests, we offer focused training to prepare dogs for competition.

  • Seasonal Tune-Ups: Many of our retrievers return year after year for continued development or off-season conditioning, ensuring they stay sharp and ready for the field.

Our goal is to build a retriever that meets your needs—whether that means a steady hunting companion, a competitive athlete, or a well-rounded working dog.

Active Home

We want to train dogs from active homes - hunting or competing - because that is what we spend all of our time working towards.
